Cal Fire Prevention Earns FEMA Grant

The California Fire Prevention Organization has earned a FEMA Fire Prevention and Safety Grant to support the organization’s focus on wildfire education, prevention, and awareness. The grant, which will run through the summer of 2023 will allow the organization to support a wide array of activities throughout the State – focusing on those communities where risk and the threat of wildfire are high.

The Wildland Urban Interface, or WUI, is a growing challenge throughout the State. As more people move into areas where humans did not previously build or live, that encroachment on wildland creates a variety of risks related to fire. CFPO will be working diligently, using live presentations, training, and film content to help reduce the risk from wildfire in specific areas within the State.
